I have, perhaps, the largest collection of vintage Windsor chairs in original condition or, restored/painted condition in the region. We offer many styles that will complement your decor ranging from primitive to modern. With my inventory, I am able to offer vintage sets of 8 plus Windsor chairs by many American manufacturers, including but not limited to: D.R. Dimes, Warren Chair Works, LeMieur, Leopold Stickley, Moosehead, Old Hickory, Mitchell, Charles Webb, Hitchcock,  E. R. Family heirloom collection of mixed makers of 6 black crackle painted Windsor chairs collected over 40 years. The chairs came from a well appointed period home in central Massachusetts. The collection includes a circa 1970’s D R Dimes NH chair, 4 chairs from the permanently closed store, Alex Pifer’s “The Seraph” in Sturbridge, one of the Windsor chairs is unsigned by the maker. 
All of the chairs in the collection have vase turned legs and beautifully hand sculpted seats, there are warm signs of wear/ patina from daily family use. All of the chairs are solid and tight, there are expected scratches and honorable paint loss. Approximate dimensions: slight variation in heights 38 1/2″ – 39″ tall, 16″ wide, 17 1/2″ deep. The design originated in 1700’s England, featuring pierced fretted back, cabriole legs joined with a crinoline stretcher ending in a padded foot. The chairs have beautifully hand carved volutes, or “ears” and beautifully sculpted hand planed seats. “Jefferson” Windsor desk arm writing chair by the Duckloe Brothers of Portland Pennsylvania. It is named the Jefferson because Thomas Jefferson purchased a Windsor desk arm writing chair in 1775 and it is believed to be where he penned the Declaration of Independence. It is constructed of mixed woods: Poplar seat, Maple legs, Hickory spindles and Ash bends. there is a storage drawer located below the seat. Set of four 18th Century Rhode Island style period reproduction Windsor chairs. Signed by unknown maker. The chairs have widely splayed RI style bulbous turned legs, RI style squares and peaked crest rail, and hand planed seats. In original worn red wash paint. Measurements are approximately 34 1/2″ tall, seat width 17, seat height 17″, seat depth 16 1/2″. width across back 21″. Offered at $275.00 each, to be sold as set.

This D. R. Dimes Bowback Windsor Armchair is in original finish with New England vase turned leg, measures approximately 41-1/2” tall 16-1/4” front to back 25-1/4” outside arms 28-1/2” from floor to top of arm, 18” between arms. To our knowledge and observations, there has been no repairs to the chair. There is no structural damage. The chair is tight with no looseness or wobble. The chair is family used for at least 20 years. There are light scratches and dents as to be expected. Offered at $695.00.
